[ENet News] WMD Proposes M&A 'Solutions' for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises Using AI Technology

[ENet News] WMD has announced the establishment of the ATLAS (Automated Transaction Valuation Analysis System) system, utilizing a database of one million companies and AI technology to address issues related to the efficiency of M&A transactions involving small and medium-sized enterprises.

Through the ATLAS system, WMD identifies companies with M&A needs and partially automates the preparation of Teasers and Information Memorandums (IMs). At the same time, they aim to streamline the M&A process by building a corporate valuation system.

The success rate of domestic small or medium-sized M&A transactions is significantly lower than that of large-scale M&As. This is often because, even if an M&A advisory firm is appointed, suitable consulting is often not provided due to the smaller deal size. The basic effort required to close a deal is substantial, but from the advisory firm's perspective, the expected compensation is relatively low compared to the effort put in, leading to small and medium-sized M&A deals being neglected.

WMD is a company bringing together M&A experts to solve the difficulties of M&A for small and medium-sized enterprises.

The team includes Jemin Lee, head lawyer and accountant at Theall Law Office, Sangbin Kwak, a lawyer, accountant, and appraiser formerly of Kim & Chang, Sanghyun Lee, an accountant who handled IPOs at KB Securities, Sungsu Jang, a lawyer with startup experience through PWC Consulting, Ingu Jeon, a renowned economic expert managing Ingu Jeon Economic Research Institute and a YouTuber with a million subscribers, Jeongtaek Lim, a lawyer formerly of Sejong Law, and Hyunwoo Jang, a lawyer who appeared on various legal broadcasts after serving as a specialist at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

Jemin Lee, CEO of WMD, stated, “Our primary goal is to dramatically increase the success rate of deals in the neglected small and medium-sized M&A market by establishing an AI system in the M&A field.”
