On November 20, 2024, an article about WMD's AI system 'ATLAS' was published in the Korea Economic Newspaper.
[Korea Economic Newspaper=Reporter Park Jin-hee] WMD announced on the 20th that they have established the ATLAS (Automated Transaction Valuation Analysis System), utilizing a database of 1 million companies and AI technology to address issues related to M&A transaction efficiency for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Through ATLAS, WMD identifies companies interested in M&A and partially automates the creation of teasers and IMs. Additionally, they aim to enhance the M&A process by establishing a corporate valuation system.
The success rate of small and medium-sized M&A transactions in Korea is significantly lower compared to large M&As. This is primarily because the deal sizes are small, leading to situations where even if an M&A advisory firm is selected, it often cannot provide suitable advice and the deal is neglected. To complete a deal requires basic effort, but from the perspective of an advisory firm, the expected compensation is low compared to the effort required, naturally leading to the neglect of small and medium-sized M&A deals.
WMD is a company composed of M&A specialists gathered to solve the challenges faced by small and medium-sized enterprises in M&A.
