On November 20, 2024, an article about WMD's AI system 'ATLAS' was published in the Global Economic Newspaper.
WMD announced on the 20th that it has established the ATLAS (Automated Transaction Valuation Analysis System) system using a database of one million companies and AI technology to address issues related to the efficiency in M&A transactions of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The company aims to utilize ATLAS to identify enterprises with M&A needs and partially automate the creation of Teasers and IMs. Additionally, it aims to enhance M&A procedures by establishing a business valuation system.
The transaction success rate of small and mid-sized M&As in the country is significantly lower compared to large M&As. This often occurs because the deal size is small, resulting in advisory firms being selected but the right advice not being provided, leaving them neglected. Basic effort is required to close deals, but from the perspective of advisory firms, the expected compensation is low compared to the efforts, leading to neglect of small and mid-sized M&A deals.
The company is comprised of M&A experts to resolve these difficulties faced by small and medium-sized enterprises.
The team includes lawyer and accountant Jemin Lee from The-All Law Office; lawyer, accountant, and appraiser Sangbin Kwak, formerly of Kim & Chang Law Office; accountant Sanghyun Lee with IPO experience at KB Securities; lawyer Sungsu Jang with startup experience following a role in PWC Consulting; economic expert Ingu Jeon, director of Ingu Jeon Economic Research Institute with one million YouTube subscribers; lawyer Jeongtaek Lim, formerly of Sejong Law Firm; and lawyer Hyunwoo Jang, a former specialist at the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and legal program contributor.
CEO Jemin Lee stated, “Our primary goal is to establish an AI system in the M&A field to significantly improve the success rate of deals in the neglected small and mid-sized M&A market.”
